Ministering to the needs of those in the Thoroughbred Racing Industry The Race Track Chaplaincy of Canada is a non-denominational, non-profit registered religious charity. A Chaplaincy Council, led by members of the horse racing industry, oversee the working and funding of the ministry. All contributions are 100% tax deductable. Welcome to the Race Track Chaplaincy of Canada website The excitement and glamour of thoroughbred racing is what most people see when they spend a day at the races. But behind the scene are countless men and women working hard to make that day happen. For these workers the days are long and the work hard, and often dangerous....but for most it is a labour of love. For a lot of people the race track is not just their place of employment. It is their home, and the center of their social circle. The backstretch  is truly a community. The RTCC strives to address the many needs of this community, both spiritually and practically. Racetrack Chaplains provide support, aid, guidance and sometimes just a friendly ear to listen to problems. Through things like the RTCC's educational programs and holiday celebrations this sense of community can grow and flourish. The Race Track Chaplaincy of Canada has a five-fold purpose for its ministry 1. Contact- to meet people on their turf and let them know that God loves and cares for them. 2. Comfort- to listen to people in their time of need and see those in need through Jesus' eyes. 3. Counsel- to get to the core of a situation with Christ-centered guidance. 4. Collaboration- to develop a support team to best meet the needs of a situation. 5. Caring- to take a person from the place they are in to a place where they can help others and share the good news about God's love.
